Josh Nizzi is a mechanical concept artist who has worked on many movies and games. In his "Concept By Josh Nizzi" lineup, which brings out new aspects of characters, a life-size bust of Evangelion Unit-01 has been released! It has been three years since the release of the diorama that recreated Unit-01's first battle. Like the previously released "Fourth Angel," this work can be considered a spin-off that inherits the same design concept. While the previous work was themed around "motion" and "occurrence," this work expresses "silence" and "occurrence." 

The figure, fixed in restraints and waiting for the time to launch, is a gigantic 86cm tall figure reminiscent of the upper body of a human, and is meticulously and dynamically created. The presence of the gigantic Unit-01 and the story of the people surrounding it are embodied through careful modeling and coloring. The multi-layered armor with different glosses for each part, the shoulder pylons that can be opened and closed, and the mouth cavity with a realistic slimy texture. 

By scaling up from the previous work, each part of Unit-01 has a denser amount of information. The restraints and deck have a more worn texture than Unit-01. The staff working in two layers, one above the other, also have a sense of drama in their poses. The LCL rippling around the waist conveys the worldview without saying a word. The built-in LEDs show the breathing of Unit-01, which stands silently. The yellow lit eyes and pale blue glowing shoulders. The red light filtered by the LCL also stimulates the viewer's imagination. The bonus version also includes an entry plug. It is a special part that signals the time to launch.
